CONCEPT

Codes in Transition draws inspiration from the literary concept of the Bildungsroman, or coming-of-age novel—stories that chronicle the journey from childhood to adulthood as individuals forge their identity and find their place in the world. Inspired by the works of Hermann Hesse, John Steinbeck, and J.D. Salinger, the project translates this idea into a fashion narrative where the characters exist in a state of transition: half-dressed, wearing garments that are either too small or too large. Their clothing becomes a metaphor for inhabiting the in-between—a moment suspended on the journey towards somewhere else.
